Tweeting on sports

OK, I don’t know why this is cool, it just is.

It is a living database showing how well professional teams and leagues are doing with social media. It obviously shows Twitter, Facebook and total fan/followers.

Go ahead and click on one of the teams (not on my snapshot but go to the link.) You’ll see the trend lines. I have to think this is of interest to the teams. Why, for example, is the NBA so much more successful? Perhaps it has to do with the excitement created by the just-ended playoffs. It may be as simple as that, I don’t know.

Think that’s cool? Check this out. No reason to hunt around for your favorite athlete on Twitter. Brendan Wilhide did the legwork for you.

I found those fun things here, on the journalist’s toolbox. I know I’ve mentioned the tool box before. If you want to use Twitter, this is a great place to start.
